Testing of engineered bamboo panels using state-of-the-art testing techniques.

Mechanical testing was undertaken on small sections of cross laminated Guadua-bamboo panels at the University of Bath. Digital Image correlation (DIC) technique was used to track 3D deformation on the surface of the panels.

This research has been sponsored by Amphibia, Colciencias and Ned Jaquith Foundation and is providing new insights into the development and standardisation of engineered bamboo products for structural applications.
